Understand Nutrition
Through my research as a PhD student at North Carolina State, I've realized that there is a disconnect between scientific knowledge in the field of nutrition and the public's perception of what makes a "healthy" diet. This blog serves as an intermediary between the nutrition science and the public. I aim to share the results of important nutritional studies which are not covered by traditional media sources, and that often go against traditional diet advice. Thanks for reading!

About the Author
I’m Bill, a PhD student
at North Carolina State University, studying the relationship between diet and
cancer. I’ve been interested in science, nutrition, health, and fitness for
several years and decided to pursue this interest in graduate school. Through
my research, I’ve discovered that scientific studies do not support much of the
diet advice that is popular today.
It is difficult for the general
public to obtain scientifically supported nutrition advice due to the limited
access to nutrition journals and the scientific jargon used in these journals.
I attempt to breakdown the scientific jargon of these studies and present the
findings in easy-to-understand language.
